Tiny house Wilbur, near Tallarook in Victoria, is named after the determined piglet from Charlotte’s Web who learns to be a great & loyal friend. We hope our Wilbur is a place that our guests can reconnect with their loved ones.

Tiny house Wilbur is only an hour and 20 mins drive north of Melbourne CBD near the town of Tallarook in Mitchell Shire.

Whether you’re looking for a wellness getaway or an adventurous one - Wilbur is a fantastic spot. There are dams and creeks on the property to fish and swim in; there are views to the Great Dividing Range and it’s a beautifully serene spot to simply stop and read a book - whether you set up by the campfire, in the hammock, or curled up in the Queen bed inside.

Wilbur sleeps 3 with a Queen bed by the main window and a single bed in the loft. We provide bedding, linen + towels, USB charger, bar fridge, hot shower, toilet, fan + heater, stovetop + Pizza Oven, fire pit, cutlery, plates, outdoor seating, books, board games and basic provisions such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, drinkable water, salt, pepper, coffee, sugar, matches and oil. Bring only food & drinks. Our tiny houses are powered by the sun and gas bottles, so don't expect to charge your laptop or plug in any appliances, but there is a small USB charger that may work if the sun is shining!

Note there is limited mobile reception at this location.

Unfortunately Tiny House Wilbur is situated on a working farm with livestock, so has a strict no pets policy - sorry!

The access road to Wilbur is a 2km dirt track, and although most cars can manage it, we would recommend using a SUV or 4WD if you have one available, or at least a vehicle that does not sit too low.

Perfect weekend in nature

This was an amazing experience! 360o of view, beautiful sunset and sunrise and a cozy hummock to relax during a hot day. Not to say having a wine and homemade pizza (the property has a pizza oven) looking at kangaroos and the beautiful landscape. There is also a river in the property (about 20 min walk) where you can go for a swim. I went on a very hot weekend (average 37oC ) so the river was a blessing. The tiny house is wonderful, clean and nicely decorated. A perfect spot for who is keen to have a rest from the city and be alone with loved ones.

Review of Wilbur house

Wilbur was a lovely first experience with in2thewild! We happened to book a date where it was actually 30+ degrees, but this wasn’t really an issue for us because we were fine with the heat and the tiny house was actually located right on the top of the hill and once we opened our windows, the breeze cooled down both the house as well as us. It got colder during the night but again, this wasn’t an issue because we turned on the heater which warmed the house. We took advantage of the pizza oven that was included and this was one of the main reasons we booked with Wilbur. We will definitely be booking with this company again, hopefully a different house/location to try something new! :)
