Need to know:

- Just over two and a half-hour from Brisbane by car

- Limited mobile signal - perfect excuse to switch off your devices

- Panoramic views of a valley

- 1 Queen bed in the window and a single bed in the loft

Set within 160 acres of land, Tiny Charlie offers seclusion and overlooks a majestic valley. Through the winter months, the land is painted golden before soaking up the summer rain and turning gorgeous shades of green.  Staying here is an easy way to escape from technology and simplify your daily routine. You also might meet the resident koala!

Named after the inquisitive character of Charlie from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this tiny house has a few tricks up its sleeve.  Morning’s at Charlie are nothing short of magical as mystical fog rolls through the valley.

Tiny house Charlie is just over a two and a half-hour drive from Brisbane, and less than 45 minutes from the charming inland city of Toowoomba.  Set at the top of a gentle hill, the house faces out towards the north with a view of the Blackall Ranges in the distance. The view from the queen bed is exceptional. The window frames a scene of plainlands, paddocks and fields planted with sorghum.

Perfect Off-grid Escape

The tiny home was very clean and comfortable. The thoughtful touches of cosy blankets, cushions, books, and games made Tiny Charlie like home. Before I went, I was a little concerned about the air-conditioning - but it worked perfectly! Even in the middle of QLD summer, I could be cool inside when needing to escape the heat. Alternatively, I could put the fan on, open the windows and let the fresh breeze flow through. The location is just stunning! The bed looks out over a valley where you can watch the sunset and the resident kangaroos that visited at dusk. The hammock under the trees was a great way to pass a lazy afternoon in a cool breeze with plenty of birds to watch. Tiny Charlie felt like you were off-grid and away from it all, but it was 15 mins to a small town with an IGA and a coffee shop. Internet reception is reasonable although you won't want to be on your phone with that view out the window! You can choose to be as isolated and off-grid as you like, or can take advantage of the small towns and hikes around. I hope to return in winter and make use of the fire pit!
