About host

Chris B

In the early months of 2020, the distinctive sound of the kookaburra started to ring through the forest on our land. They were house hunting.

Sadly, the devastation of the Australian bushfires had forced them from their homes. But they took to the tranquillity of our land and began settling into life on the ridge.

The subsequent worldwide pandemic closely followed and gave us an abundance of free time. We used it to refocus our attention as the kookaburras had done and turned our dream into a reality. Kookaburra Ridge was born.

We want others to share the unique and sheer raw beauty of this place. A retreat to escape the too familiar sights and sounds of the daily grind, if only for a short time, to share a home, a story and a laugh with the kookaburras.
